Their works of art exude balance and harmony achieved from an integration of subtle variations with dramatic contrasts and attention to detail. The patterns and designs of Art Nouveau and Art Deco and their treatment of nature can be found in their work. They explain, “We use these patterns to create borders to complement the main photo, thus making them an integral part of the print.” Having borders eliminates the need for further matting or framing.

In our permanent “New Beginnings” Exhibition, presented on this website, they submitted a photograph of Milkweed Flowers and wrote “As nature photographers we closely monitor activities in our garden. Spring always brings the feeling of rebirth as old friends emerge from their winter slumber. Throughout the summer we follow the new beginnings of plants, flowers and their attendant insects. Milkweed flowers are favored by a wide variety of insects but, unfortunately, there are fewer varieties every year. This photo is a pattern of milkweed leaves and buds, about to open to the possibilities of what will come.”
The Reveal, digital photography, 60″ x 50″, available in smaller sizes
Dick and Rosanne explain, “Being immersed in our environment and appreciating colors and patterns in things both large and small, has led us to create sacred geometry mandala-like images of nature. The pattern repetitions function similarly to the meditative and reflective qualities of a mandala. New patterns and details emerge. New stories are told. You are drawn deeper into the image as your mind becomes engaged with patterns. New worlds are revealed in the reality we think we know and understand. A bond with nature is created that can be accessed anytime throughout the year.”

Thank you for featuring Dick and Roseanne, Renee. I thoroughly enjoy the intricacies, method and beauty of their work, and especially knowing that it comes from God‘s Creation, their gardens. I find myself staring at each of their works trying to figure out how they were digitally arranged, but that is where their creativity & Talent are applied so skillfully and creatively. True works of art!
It is a method I have been doing for 25 years but not quite that intricately. It is very inspiring to see. Thanks again for featuring them, Christine Jaksy, Visual Artist, Hospice Chaplain.
