As we do every year we like to ask our artist members what they are most excited about to share about the upcoming year. In December, 2023 we asked all of our members in the three online galleries “What do you most look forward to in 2024”? We are delighted to have received these replies to share with you.
Please visit the artists’ pages and their websites to view more of their art and learn more about them. Contact them directly to purchase their art.

After the successful launch of my book on the indigenous dance festival of the state of Puebla, Mexico, titled “Huey Atlixcayotl – The Art in a Gaze”, I am most looking forward to its publication in the US next year. The Mexican edition, in Spanish, will be reformatted into a bilingual version for the US market available on Amazon. The original photographs were taken in the late 1970s and early 1980s and then digitized in 2021 and 2022.

I am excited about this year ahead. August 1 to September 7 at Kootenay Gallery of Art, a public gallery where I live, I am having a solo show of all 32 of my forest paintings from Volumes I and II of my book “SYLVAN REFLECTIONS: Wanderings, Paintings & Ponderings From the Forest”. I will be launching Volume II and its companion film “On BEAUTY, As We Come To It In the Forest,” and exhibiting the 32 paintings in the series.

Creativity makes demands of me. The gentle breeze of change roars through my passion calling me to pivot. Intention must lead to action. So, January 1st, I closed my Central Art Studio and Gallery after 8 years, I moved 3.5 hour distance into the wilder areas of Vancouver Island. My new studio is the forest and beach. I am simplifying routines to allow travel, and more painting plein-air. Allowing in-person acceptance of invitations on awards and participation in distant shows. I will help my daughter with her children’s charity which teaches life skills using the great outdoors as the classroom. I will continue growing my online presence, proudly working with amazing people such as Renee Phillips. Certainly a WOW NOW year!

In the new year, I look forward to several art fairs/shows in which I will be participating collaboratively with several other artists. We will derive creative confluence with each other for the pieces we show, as well as moving forward individually with our art. Every year I look forward to my travels to my summer home in Michigan on the shore of Lake Superior and the art opportunities and inspiration presented to me there.

The excitement is building! On the 8th of February I will be exhibiting at Michell Studios, New Zealand. Titled “Floral Affair”, this exhibition celebrates nature, beauty, love, and friendship. Each painting in this exhibition is complemented by a short poem written by me, that shines a light on the human heart. The paintings have been created to connect people with nature, and to inspire and fill viewers with hope and happiness. Paintings can be purchased online and shipped too!

From Stillness Into Vast Creation, acrylic, oil pastel, soft pastel on canvas, 24″ x 24″ by Eva Breitfuss
After a very successful and also exhausting year 2023 with many international exhibitions and awards, I am particularly looking forward to spending more time in silence and creative peace with my brushes, paints and canvases in my studio in 2024. It will still be exciting, however, with participation in the LA SHOW in Los Angeles in February and two group exhibitions in Italy. In May I’m off to NYC to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the presentation of the Artbook ‘Special Edition NY’ – Atlante d’ll Arte Contemporanea, in which I’m presented with one of my artworks.
