Every year Manhattan Arts International presents an online exhibition devoted to “The Healing Power of ART”. On this page we are proud to introduce you to the top award winners in “The Healing Power of ART 2020” Exhibition which was being presented February 20 – May 31, 2020 and featured more than 50 artists on our other website The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS.
Over 30 years, our curated art exhibitions and art programs at Manhattan Arts International have promoted thousands of artists from around the world. We attract many thousands of online visitors to our exhibitions. Our exhibitions are promoted across social media platforms and subscription-based email marketing newsletters. Sandra Belitza-Vazquez Won The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS Membership Award and Award of Excellence
Sandra Belitza-Vazquez won a Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS Membership Award and an Award of Excellence. She has had a lifelong interest in travel and anthropology, having received her Masters degree from the University of the Americas. As she travels around the globe she explores the human condition and “the beauty of nature and the awesome constructs of man that define the world we inhabit”. She transforms seemingly everyday objects and situations into awe-inspiring images that remain long cherished memorable works of art.
When she submitted her photographs to the jury of The Healing Power of ART 2020 she wrote: “I use my camera to search for all that is beautiful in nature and the man-made world because by experiencing and appreciating beauty with awe and gratitude, I renew my spirit. A sense of wonder, calm, and love fills my being as I capture images that can help heal others.”
Laara Cassells Won The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS Membership Award and An Award of Excellence
Laara Cassells won a Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS Membership Award and an Award of Excellence. She is a contemporary Canadian painter best known for her representational paintings and portraits. Her passion lies in painting portraits whether of a human or an animal. She works in series, “where I can develop a theme over time and I enjoy telling stories with my paintings.” Her outstanding series include “Wildlife”, “Horses”, “Portraits” and “Becoming”, among others.
When Laara submitted her entries to “The Healing Power of ART 2020” competition from her “Wildlife” series she wrote: “I find that being out in nature and having the privilege of watching Alberta wildlife outside my window is so good for my soul. I would like my wolf paintings to speak to a healthy, rejuvenated and creative engagement with the natural world.”
Diane Morgan Won the Cathy Berman ForMotherNature.com Art Award
Diane Morgan won an Award of Excellence and also the Cathy Berman, ForMotherNature.com Special Recognition Art Award. The mission of ForMotherNature.com is to inspire people to help save our natural world by supporting organizations that protect and preserve wildlife and wild places. The website profiles artists who have made a commitment to give a portion of income from sales of their art to an environmental nonprofit. It provides visibility to these artists and to the organizations they support.
Elaine Poggi Selected Kathy Collier to Receive Her Special Recognition Art Award
Elaine Poggi is a photographer and founder of The Foundation for Photo / Art in Hospitals, a non-profit, publicly-supported organization dedicated to placing colorful, soothing photographs of nature in hospitals. The Foundation’s message is “Humanizing Hospitals Through Healing Photo Art.” The unique mission of the Foundation is to place large, framed photographs of nature and beautiful places from around the world in hospitals to give comfort and hope to patients and their families, visitors, and caregivers. Elaine selected Kathy Collier’s photograph from “The Healing Power of ART 2020” exhibition to win her award.
