Awe-Inspiring and Magical Oil Paintings
Ruth Soller, solleroriginals.com, was born in Arkansas and currently lives in Colorado. As an artist her purpose is, “to share my awe of nature and create energy and joy through art.” She is nationally recognized for her vibrant nature-inspired oil paintings that exude a powerful and uplifting presence.

Ruth’s degrees include BS Home Economics at University of Arkansas and MBA at University of Oklahoma. She studied oil portraiture with Daniel E. Greene in his North Salem, NY studio. Ruth studied at the Art Students League, Denver with Jill Soukup and Johanna Harmon. She also studied plein air painting with Jane Hunt, Marc Hanson, John Taft, and Jake Gaedtke.
She states, “Studying with admired artists honed my skills and intention. Perseverance through challenges focused my style and voice. I discovered that creating art brings healing power to my body, mind and spirit.”

She explains her creative process and intention in this manner: “My paintings are built up in layers of oil paint on a sienna-toned linen or canvas. Once varnished my paintings take on a translucent depth akin to stained glass. My gift of creative communication occurs as my art is seen and experienced by others.”
Ruth has received many important awards which include Landscape Artist of the Year Award at Art Comes Alive!, Purchase Award by Good Samaritan Cancer Center, Best Oil in Western Spirit Show at Old West Museum, and Awards of Excellence from Manhattan Arts International.
Ruth’s many solo exhibitions include those presented at Osmosis Art Gallery, Lafayette Public Library, Creative Framing Gallery, Broomfield Auditorium, and Troy University Rosa Parks Museum.

Her important group shows include Art Design Consultants, Salmagundi Club New York, Butler Institute of American Art, CM Russell Museum, Denver International Airport, Panhandle Plains Museum, and U.S. Senator Michael Bennet’s office in Washington, DC. Her art was accepted to be on view in the 2022 Colorado Day (August 1st) Exhibition at the Colorado State Capitol Complex, including the Governor’s Office, the Lieutenant Governor’s Office, and the basement rotunda, from August 1 through October or November 2022.
Her many collectors include Good Samaritan Cancer Center, International Association of Fire Fighters, Washington DC, Caddell Construction Co., Pike Pioneer Museum, The Vermont Country Store Scale Museum and Ranch-Way Feed Mills.
In 2023 Ruth became a Licensed Artist with Art Brand Studios / Wild Wings. The company publishes, markets, and distributes her original art and reproductions.

About her “Cloudscape” creations she states, “My recent cloudscapes are a journey toward abstraction inspired by cloud formations viewed from my home. I also create oil paintings of National Parks and western landscapes in a contemporary modernist style. Inspired by travel and plein air studies, my magical landscapes express passion through brilliant hues and dramatic contrasts.”
Ruth’s first book “National Parks and Beyond” by Ruth Soller includes 50 of her paintings in full color along with stories about the paintings. Ruth’s art was selected for Manhattan Arts International “HerStory” 2024, 2023, and 2022 Exhibitions. She has also been chosen for “The Healing Power of Color” 2024 and “The Healing Power of ART: Resilience” Invitational Exhibitions.
Her painting “Twilight in Rocky Mountain National Park” was selected for “The Healing Power of Elements: Earth, Water, Air & Fire” 2023 juried exhibition on The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS (HPAA) website, an initiative of Manhattan Arts International. She received a Special Recognition Art Award which included an interview which you can read here.
Additional exhibitions include “The Healing Power of ART In Honor of Nature” online exhibition She was one of the artists selected from submissions received from hundreds of artists from around the world. Ruth was also featured in an article “Artists Share The Influence of Nature In Their Art” on the HPAA website.
