Curator: Renee Phillips, Founder / Director of Manhattan Arts International
About Manhattan Arts International: Since 2000 Manhattan Arts International has been dedicated to promoting artistic excellence and serving as artists’ advocates through an online art gallery and online exhibitions. Prior to 2000, Renée Phillips, Founder, Director and Curator, published Manhattan Arts International magazine (1983-2000) to promote emerging artists.
Throughout the years Manhattan Arts International has continued its purpose to promote artists and provide an ever-growing international viewing audience. We do not engage in art sales, nor do we charge any commissions on sales made as a result of our efforts. Learn more about us.
The Purpose of Our “HerStory” Exhibitions: For decades, Renée Phillips curated exhibitions of women artists in galleries and a variety of prominent venues throughout NYC, NY including the First Women’s Bank, Chase Bank, and Lincoln Center. She has also proudly served as a mentor on the Board of Directors for several women’s arts organizations and serves as an Honorary Committee member for Catharine Lorillard Wolfe’s Annual Exhibition. (Read more about Renée Phillips)
As the curator of “HerStory” exhibitions she states, “Even though for centuries women artists have inspired, enlightened and informed us with their enormous talent, vision and commitment, their contributions have gone under-recognized. Many have served as creative trailblazers in their chosen styles and mediums and they haven’t received the accolades they deserve. I will continue to present annual ‘HerStory’ exhibitions until there is a fair and equal balance of women artists represented by art museums, galleries, art book publishers, major private and public collections, auction houses, and the media.”
International Publicity for Women Artists: “HerStory 2023” will be widely promoted via social media and our subscription-based email marketing newsletters. Through our exhibitions artists make connections to galleries, art consultants, arts writers and art buyers. (Read Praise Received for Manhattan Arts International “HerStory” Exhibitions)

I am so grateful for the vision behind this work – “Her Story”.
I am a long-time admirer of Bren Sibilsky’s work and when I saw an article about this exhibit pop up on my Instagram feed, I immediately connected with the title “Her Story”.
Just wanted to say thank you to the visionaries behind this and to all of the artists. I’m a fan who happens to be a “her” and wanted to share how much this work is positively impacting “hers” around the world! 😊
Rajul Shah says
I am so happy and honored to be part of this amazing group of artists! Thank you Renee! I can’t wait to see all the artwork!
Renee Phillips says
Rajul, I am very grateful that you submitted your beautiful painting to “HerStory”. Thank you for your compassion for humanity and commitment to helping others heal.
Dorothy Graden says
I am excited that my work has been chosen to be in the exhibit. Will you be sending out more information? And will you be asking for photos of my work that are higher quality in pixels and size? How will I know when the work gets published?
Renee Phillips says
Dorothy, it is a pleasure to include your art in “HerStory”. To answer your questions the exhibition begins on March 6 and you will receive another email newsletter from us before then. The quality of your entries were approved so no further action is required from you except to visit the exhibition and enjoy it! 🙂
