Publicity, Promotion and Career Advice
I am honored to be joined by three outstanding art leaders who have generously offered to give special awards to the artists of their choice for the “New Beginnings” exhibition. They include: James Bacchi, Carolyn Edlund, and Nancy Reyner.
Please note: In addition to receiving these special awards, all four winners will have an article written about their award in the Manhattan Arts International’s Articles section.
James Bacchi ArtHaus Gallery Award
James Bacchi is co-owner of ArtHaus Gallery, www.ArtHaus, an award-winning San Francisco, California contemporary fine art gallery that shows diverse subject matter, media and styles. He is also an Iphoneographer – #inthesky photography.
About His Award: The artist will receive a one-hour phone consultation with a review of their artwork.
Criteria: “I heavily rely on first impressions; originality, execution, technique and use of medium. My hope is to discover an image that not only speaks to new beginnings, but also one that provides inspiration while excelling in technique. My search narrows further to consistency in terms of style and presentation.”
Carolyn Edlund Artsy Shark Award
Carolyn Edlund is the founder of Artsy Shark, artsyshark.com, “Inspiring Artists To Build Better Businesses”. She is a renowned art marketing expert and writer who presents workshops throughout the U.S. She promotes artists in all mediums on her website.
About Her Award: The artist will be featured on the ArtsyShark website with images and link to their website. The ArtsyShark website attracts 35,000 unique readers each month.
Criteria: “I’m interested in the theme of ‘New Beginnings’ and the interpretation of that concept by the artist, in any medium. Outstanding craftsmanship and execution are always important, but I will also be looking for complexity and layers of meaning in the work, and it’s suitability for the competition.”
Nancy Reyner Award
Nancy Reyner, nancyreyner.com, is a Manhattan Arts International award-winning artist and instructor. She has appeared on HGTV’s “That’s Clever” and worked as a technical consultant for Golden Paints. As an author her most recent book is “Create Perfect Paintings”.
About Her Award: An article about the artist and their work will be published on Nancy Reyner’s website blog. The selected artist will also receive a private a one hour consultation with her.
Her Criteria: “For this award, I am looking for a compelling image, one that invites me to enter another world, and be visually surprised by what I find there. Technical competence is important, but even more so is the work’s ability to reveal the artist’s personality, point of view, and inventive bravery.”
Renée Phillips Award
Renée Phillips is Director/Curator at Manhattan Arts International, an artist’s mentor and career coach, renee-phillips.com, known as The Artrepreneur Coach “Helping Artists Achieve Their Fullest Potential”, and the author of several art career books and e-Books.
About Her Award: An artist will receive two 60-minute art marketing phone consultations with career advice to take their career to the next level.
Criteria: “For this award I’m looking for an artist who demonstrates originality and superior technical prowess in their medium and style, has a cohesive signature style, but is under-recognized. I’ll help this artist achieve their creative, career and financial goals.”
