Revealing The Unseen World Through Art
Matti Sirvio was born in Sotkamo, Finland and currently lives in Muscat, Oman. Created in the style of Semi-Abstract Expressionism, his bold paintings are immersive in scale and infused with dynamic expansion, depth and contrast.
The artist, who is also a pastor, explains, “I want people to see the unseen world through my art, a view beyond time into eternity.”
Sirvio employs fluid spontaneity and rich symbols in his compositions that reflect a sophisticated juxtaposition of forms, colors and textures. He integrates ebullient colors in varying chromatic and tonal ranges.
He brings a universal language that engages viewers immediately and transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. He is fluent in many languages and has lived and exhibited in many parts of Europe, Asia and the U.S.
Matti Sirvio’s long list of solo exhibitions and public art events include “Art Takes Manhattan” and the Izmir Art Biennial. He has been a guest lecturer at the National Fine Arts College and the University of Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat Oman.
For two decades Sirvio dedicated himself to humanitarian church work in Sweden and Hungary and among the Turkic nations in the former Soviet Union. It is apparent the artist’s world view is all encompassing, and inclusive of all sides of humanity.
