Kiyoko Sakai combines the dynamic spontaneity of American Abstract Expressionism with the eloquent and graceful line quality of traditional Japanese art. Her unique paintings incorporate oil and acrylic paints with gold leaf and metallic powder.
She was born in Japan and now lives in New Jersey. She has international collectors and her many awards include First Place at Ramapo College juried show and Second Place at Bergen Museum juried show. She is listed in Who’s who in the World, and has been nominated as Woman of the Year 2016. Her painting, ‘String Theory’ is on the cover for a book published by Presses de l’Universite du Quebec.
