Excerpts From the Book
From the Introduction

This book is a tribute to the artist who has the impulse to raise their voice and claim their identity. It is a companion to the artist who feels isolated during the solitary process of producing their art. It champions the artist who is passionately devoted to the creative process and who perseveres regardless of the uncontrollable forces that threaten their creative freedom. This book is for artists of all ages, career levels, creative styles and media.

From Chapter I: It Begins With You: The Artist
It begins with you. As an artist you are especially endowed with success. Each day is an opportunity to celebrate the gifts that have been bestowed upon you. You have an acute sensitivity to a myriad of stimuli. You have the power to create something that, before you imagined it, did not exist. With a blank canvas or sheet of paper, a slab of clay, hunk of stone, camera lens, found objects or computer technology, you are capable of bringing inner visions to outer forms...

From Chapter 3: Create Your Master Plan and Plan Your Destiny
A goal is a dream with deadlines...
Strive to attain balance between your creative, career and financial goals. Examine your personal values and preferences and determine if they are compatible with your goals. Action plans consist of desires, goals, strategies and activities. An example of a desire might be to acquire a larger, sepa-rate studio. The goal might be to earn $50,000 this year from sales of your work. A strategy might be to increase sales through corporate art consultants. Activities might be: purchase a mailing list; make appointments with ten corporate art consultants next month; and design a new brochure by April. Target dates and lists help you stay on course and get the job done on time...

From Chapter 9: Finding Your Buyers and Building Your Markets
People do not buy art because they think they need it, they buy it because they want it. Have you given any thought to who will want to buy your work? Many artists are mystified about determining who to target their sales and how, when and where to reach them. This chapter shows you the steps to take that will lead you in the right direction. Apply just a few ideas and techniques offered in this chapter and you will be on the way to increasing your following and increasing your bank account...
