Artist Profile

Marc Josloff, an insightful painter and photographer, earned his BA degree in Advertising Design & Visual Communication at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY in 1969 and a Masters Degree in Art Education and Art Therapy in 1975. Since then he has studied painting at a multitude of regional colleges and with several mentors, including Mel Stabin, Irwin Greenberg and Paul Ching Bor.

Since 1978, Josloff's artwork has been exhibited in galleries throughout the metropolitan New York area. His paintings have also been included in private and public collections. Recently his painting, "Boy on a Scooter at the Hotel Deville," was purchased by the Art Students League of New York. A gallery exhibition of select works from the ASL permanent collection entitled, "The League Then and Now" displayed Marc Josloff's painting alongside those of Georgia O'Keefe, Will Barnet, Norman Rockwell, William Merritt Chase and other notables.

The artist was featured in Watercolor Magic magazine, December, 2004, in "11 Hot Artists- Ones to Watch". In the same magazine's December '05 issue, Marc was cited in "Making a Splash."

In addition to being a prolific painter, Josloff has been an art teacher, photographer, graphic designer, advertising art director and illustrator. As a multi-level visual artist he has combined many disciplines to attain the breadth of his present work.

Marc Josloff will be the instructor for an excellent skill building and exotic travel watercolor workshop in Kyoto, Japan, October 14-24, 2008. Read more about it in our Resource Directory. For more information visit his website, or contact him by email or phone.
